SGML based concepts for the presentation of scientific facts as well as several tools for converting documents are discussed. In particular, the treatment of mathematical formulas, chemical data (molecular structures) and bibliographic data is dealt with. Scientific texts with sufficient "markup" allow easy conversions for online presentations and professional printouts and should simplify the preparation of excerpts for use in data bases.
