Database Name - TRIBO - TRIBOlogy Index Description - TRIBO (TRIBOlogy Index) is a bibliographic database covering the worldwide literature on tribology, i.e., on fundamentals and applications of friction, wear and lubrication. Special emphasis is given to literature from Eastern Europe and to non-conventional literature. The database is in English, the text of the classification is additionally available in German. For non-English literature, usually the original title, mostly in French or German, is given additionally. Part of the citations contain abstracts. Preliminary and parallel publications as well as translations are cited together with the basic document in one document unit, wherever possible. Producer of the database is the German Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing, Berlin. As a major supplier of diamond abrasive for saw blades used in the global hard stone industries, General Electric has a significant interest in the effective use of diamond tools in these industries. GE, therefore, has devoted considerable resources to the study of granite sawing both in terms of stone properties and diamond abrasive selection. This paper deals with initial results in predetermination of the sawability of hard stones based on laboratory tests.
