Database Name:  CAOLD - The pre-1987 Chemical Abstracts File

Description:  The CAOLD file contains records for Chemical Abstracts (CA)
     references prior to 1967.  The CAOLD File has been built as a result
     of the CAS Pre-1965 Substance Registration Project.  References have
     been added to the file as substances from the CA 6th and 7th
     Collective Indexes (1957-1966) were registered or identified.  A
     limited number of records for prior to 1957, primarily for substances
     containing fluorine or silicon, also appear in the file. The document
     records in the CAOLD file contain CA reference numbers, Registry
     Numbers for the substances cited, and document type for patents.
